Pieter Dorsman has a strong background and deep connections in the Canadian tech sector. Prior to co-founding IGETIS he was active as an advisor, investor and mentor with numerous Vancouver-based tech companies. He ran these activities through his own consulting firm Redpeaks Management Inc. which focused on advising technology companies on capital raising, M&A and restructuring activities. Pieter has also taken on interim management roles at a number of Canadian tech companies.
Pieter is CFO and one of the directors of E-Fund, a Vancouver-based Angel investment fund. He is also chairman of Lambda Solutions Inc., a cloud-based learning company. Previously, he co-founded Actenum Corporation and structured the start, financing and exit of ClearVision Technologies.
Prior to relocating to Vancouver, Pieter held a number of senior positions at UBS in Hong Kong in project and corporate finance where he was responsible for financial advisory, arranging and restructuring mandates throughout Asia. Prior to joining UBS, he worked for Barclays Bank in Hong Kong and London. Pieter holds a Master’s degree in Economic and Social History from the Erasmus Universiteit in The Netherlands where he also studied law.
Pieter is an active community member and was elected as a Trustee to the West Vancouver School Board in 2014. In his spare time he likes to travel, ski, hike and read political biographies. In 2013, he summited Mount Kilimanjaro with IGETIS partner Simon Waterson and the Summits of Hope team and came close to do the same in 2016 when trying to scale Aconcagua in Argentina. He likes to spend time with his family and writes on his own blog about politics and current affairs.
Simon has worked within the Executive Search / Consulting industry for more than 25 years. He worked with clients such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Banco Santander, Morgan Stanley, Barclays Capital Citadel, Tudor Investments and SAC Capital.
After spending time working in the Middle East and then London, he moved to Hong Kong in 1992 a started work with the premier search firm, Burns Hall Asia. In 1995, he founded his own search firm, which almost immediately became part of the Global Stanton Chase network and in 2008, he relocated to the Stanton Chase London office to build-out a Capital Markets practice.
In 2000, Simon decided to return to Hong Kong and joined Eban International, who went on to become the #1 Executive Search firm in Asia. His focus was on Senior Director, Managing Director and Partner level roles. In 2002, he was made Partner at Eban and in addition to Equities, he started working on Derivatives and Fixed Income mandates. In 2004, he added Hedge Funds to his portfolio. In 2008, when the Managing Partner left the firm, Simon assumed the responsibility of co-managing the Asian business. He spent considerable time working on team build-outs, especially in China and India. This involved providing Consulting services regarding the specific markets, including: competition footprints, team structures, compensation recommendations and more.
In 2012, Simon and his family made a lifestyle choice and moved to Canada. He is a volunteer firefighter at Lions Bay Fire Rescue and enjoys golf, skiing and hiking. In 2013, he summited Mount Kilimanjaro with IGETIS partner, Pieter Dorsman and the Summits of Hope team, as part of a fundraiser for the B.C. Children’s Hospital.
